ANSWERS! WOO-HOO!

(this is cut-and-pasted from an email message so....you MAY be re-reading this...)

As you (probably) know, I've been having a really crappy last couple of months, but it looks like we FINALLY have some answers!!!

Since mid-October I've had wierd unexplainable pains in my lower right side, and doctors were getting no-where out here in the desert, we went to a pediatric GI in Loma Linda.

And he scheduled me for a EGD, and colonoscopy, (fiber-optic camera's up and down both ends woo-hoo.)

So- Full Story Time!!!

The day before (sunday) the colonoscopy and EGD (down my throat), I had to drink this stuff called "GoLightly" NO JOKE. so, uhm, in essence, it made me....go....lightly....yeah....sorry..... THAT was the worst part I think. It felt and tasted like watered-down snot. It was AWFUL.

I guess had an alllergic reaction to one of the three thingies they gave me for sedation (thats what they told me anyway when I FINALLY woke up), so I guess my face started turning red and I began to wake-up, which I kinda remember but not really, and coming-to took forever I guess, 2-3 hours, and we finally left at five pm once I could actually sit up without passing out. (But I GOTTA admit! The whole "going-under" thing was TR-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-PPY!) And actually "drink" some water not just from the saline IV they put me on, so after I flopped into a wheel chair and flipped into the car, we drove home and I went to bed. I woke up 15 minutes later, realizing that it was getting harder and harder to swallow, so I told my Mom and she brought me Benedryl and ice water.

I'm ok today, my lower-lip's a little swollen, and my throat is WAY sore (when I woke up during the EGD, and gagged pretty bad. Waking up was SOOO hard, everything was double and spinning it was bizzarre.

We don't get the FINAL results until Thursday, but for now the Dr. saw that I have "superficial ulcers". (BASICALLY, it means the stomach lining on my right side, has been completely eroded, near-tearing, so they are ALMOST ulcers.)

I thought only OLD people got ulcers??? Guess not, hahaha, so for now, no more spicy foods, and nothing fried. UGH.

but ooooooh well. better that they found it now rather than later right?

LIFE SUCKS.

why? well, a list sounds good, n'est pas?

  • i'm still sick.
  • they still don't know why.
  • and because they still dont know why, i have to have a colonoscopy.

(in a jiff? they put me under, and stick a fiber optic lens up my ass. yeah. for real. yipee for me.)

  • my dad's being let go.

so as of January 31st, unless he finds a job with health and dental, our insurance goes bye-bye.
  • my mom has to get a job.

(she's applying at Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Target, Costco, anywhere and everywhere. (but she mostly does office management type stuff like, a secretary or something, so i mean if you know anyone who needs a good secretary or someone to do paper work & stuff, she's got experience with pre-schools, law firms...)

  • when my mom gets a job, if its during day time, grandma comes to live with us 5 of 7 days a week. and i LOVE my grandma DON'T GET ME WRONG, it's just, well, you know when i say something without thinking and its blunt and rude and i dont have a chance to think twice? that would be grammy j, ALL. DAY. LONG.
  • when my mom gets a job, if its in the afternoon, i will be watching Philip Kate & Liz. so that Gramma J, bless her heart, won't have to live out here monday-friday.

But, silver lining right?
Liz's B-day party is on sunday, she will be 2.
and she's ADORABLE.
"CHEESE!"

my dad could find a really AWESOME job, my mom could get her ECD degree, and who knows? we might be fine.
